Erion Veliaj has been boasting for months that the Municipality of Tirana has built 40 new schools. Last night, TvKlan released photos of 40 objects. From the analysis of the data that is easily found, but also from the photos and models presented yesterday, ten facts can simply be ascertained: 1. In the best case, only 15 new schools have been built in Tirana in these 8 years, one of which is a gift from the Czech government. I have my doubts about two village schools, but at the moment I am calling it to the municipality. 2. With government funds for reconstruction, 17 schools have been reconstructed and are being reconstructed in Tirana. So there used to be schools, but, destroyed by the earthquake, they were renovated or rebuilt.
Of these 40 schools, 9 schools Turkey Phone Number List have been built, reconstructed and are being reconstructed in Tirana with the funds of donors - the European Union, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Qatar. Out of the 40 schools mentioned, 8 of them are still under reconstruction and therefore non-functional. 5. The municipality of Tirana has the "merit" of building 14 schools for 8 years, or an average of 1.75 schools per year. 6. To build these 14 schools, the Municipality has charged citizens and businesses with a tax for educational infrastructure, which in less than 6 years has collected 41 million euros.
So the average cost of a new school was 2,928,571 euros. 7. For comparison, schools that are built with European Union funds have an average cost of 1,190,476 euros. (eu4schoolsportal.al) 8. The schools that are built or reconstructed by the Municipality of Tirana have a much higher cost per square meter than the schools built by the European Union. For example, the Sami Frashëri school, rebuilt by the Municipality of Tirana, had a cost of 942.19 euros per square meter. Whereas a school similar in size and capacity, such as Emin Duraku, which is being rebuilt with European Union funds, has a cost of 447 euros per square meter.
